Facts/Notes: Pangolin: There are eight species of pangolin, the only scaly mammal. The name Pangolin comes from the Malay word pengguling, meaning something that rolls up. It's found naturally in tropical regions throughout Africa and Asia. Pangolins are hunted for food, for use in traditional medicine and as fashion accessories, and there's a growing illegal international trade in it's scales, skins, and meat. They are now threatened with extinction.
